It’s that time of the year again. Little A has a Harvest Festival Party and Max has a Pumpkin Party on Friday. I have no idea why Halloween is such a bad word to the schools these days. Out in the real world, the costumes and candy and parties are called Halloween costumes, candy and parties. If the use of the name is so repugnant, why celebrate it? *shrugs* I know I asked this question before, but it is just puzzling why it is celebrated on the last school day before the H word, with all of the same elements, but the word can’t be used.

The Best Halloween Costume I've Ever Seen
I had a professor in college who managed to keep the fact that he was a trekkie under wraps, at least, until Halloween. He showed up looking like he had just walked off of Captain Kirk’s bridge or something. The costume was so authentic that I would not have been surprised if he walked out after class and got beamed up. I think that’s the definition of a good costume – it has just enough attention to detail to make one wonder.
