When I was a kid, I was so proud to take my lunch to school in my Flintstones lunchbox. I’ve always loved that cartoon, even though it was way before my time. I had issues from time to time with Fred’s loudmouth ways, but not enough to give up on the rest of the Flintstones and the Rubbles.
CHRISTMAS! This morning’s arrival of the Tech Savvy slideshow made me feel like a little kid again. So many gadgets, so little time. Here are a few of them.
The most wasteful thing I do on a regular basis would have to be farmville. I spend too much time almost daily planting and harvesting stuff that is not even real. Shame on me, I know, but there is something about the whole game that is just fun. I have weeks (and even months) where my crops are allowed to wither and blow in the wind. Just not now.
I was flipping channels when I came across an advertisement for a new reality show on TLC. It was centered around a family that lived a polygamous lifestyle. I wondered if it was a good plan to be on television openly breaking laws that are rarely enforced in Utah, yet still on the books. Then I remembered the Salahis and how they got onto a Bravo show after basically trespassing on federal property. The producers must have seen this red flag too, because they called up the Utah Attorney General’s office and basically asked if they were going to be shut down. The police are investigating them now, so maybe that conversation with the Attorney General did not go as well as the producers thought it did.
