Just kidding, but they ARE purchasing Marvel Comics for 4 billion. The impact of this purchase will be an interesting thing to observe in the Disney theme parks and at the movies.

How did I miss this?

Nikki blogged about the end of Reading Rainbow. This is a sad day for children, children’s authors, parents and teachers.

With all of my PBS viewing, NPR twitter following and everything, it slipped past my radar that the show aired its last episode today. It was the third longest running children’s program in the history of the network (Sesame Street and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood ran longer). 26 Emmy Awards. I talked on the Sisters With Sense blog about the Visiting Day episode, which highlighted a family’s visit to a father in prison. It was just an example of the quality of the show. I am so thankful to have had it as a young person and so sad to see it come to an end.
